What it does
Questionnaire Drafter reads a security questionnaire, DDQ, or RFP and drafts an answer to each question from your own Confluence content. Every answer cites the page it came from, and every answer is a draft for you to review before export.
Before you start
Put the content you want to answer from into Confluence: security policies, control descriptions, and past questionnaire answers. The more plainly your pages state things (for example, "Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256"), the better the drafts. Note the space keys that hold this content, such as SEC or POLICY.
Drafting a questionnaire
- Open Apps > Questionnaire Drafter in Confluence.
- Upload the questionnaire you received (
.xlsxor.csv). It is parsed in your browser, so the file itself is never uploaded to a server. - If the workbook has multiple tabs, pick the worksheet you want to draft against.
- Pick the question column (it is auto-detected if a column is named "Question").
- Enter the Confluence space keys to search, separated by commas. Leave blank to search every space you can read. Narrowing to your policy spaces improves quality and speed.
- Choose a model: Sonnet for the best answers, or Haiku for faster, lower-cost drafting.
- Click Draft answers. Answers fill in as they are generated.
Reviewing
Each row shows the drafted answer, a confidence level, the source page, and any review notes.
- high / medium / low — the model's confidence in the draft.
- library — reused from an answer you previously approved.
- — — no answer was found in your documentation. Read the review note for what is missing.
Edit any answer inline, then Approve or Reject. Approved and edited answers are saved to your answer library and reused automatically on future questionnaires.
Exporting
Click Export answered .xlsx. The download preserves the rest of the workbook and adds these columns to the worksheet you drafted: Drafted Answer, Confidence, Sources, Review Notes, and Review Status.
Good to know
- The app does not invent answers. If your docs do not cover a question, it says so rather than guessing.
- Your data never leaves Atlassian. See the security and data page.
- Best results come from clear, current Confluence content. The human review step is there to catch anything out of date.
Current limits
- Reads
.xlsxand.csv(not Word or PDF). - Does not auto-fill third-party vendor portals.
- Handles questionnaires up to 1,500 rows per drafting job.
- Answer library uses exact-question matching today; semantic matching is planned.
